More than 1,500 driver partners have successfully completed the ‘Safe Driving Online Course’ launched by the global mobility and delivery platform inDrive in Nepal.
inDrive has stated that the training, conducted with the aim of raising awareness among driver partners about road safety, professional conduct, and safety measures to be adopted in emergency situations, has achieved a significant milestone.
Designed to be easily completed from a mobile device, this online course provides driver partners with practical information necessary for safe vehicle operation, maintaining professional conduct with passengers, and effectively handling various situations that may arise during journeys.
So far, more than 1,500 driver partners have completed the course and received digital certificates from inDrive.
The course, designed to be completed in approximately 20 minutes, mainly covers topics such as on-platform safety and professional boundaries, basic knowledge of road safety for ride-hailing services, and the use of emergency situations, reporting, and SOS features.
Sunita Jimmi Rai, Senior Driver Operations Specialist at inDrive Nepal, said, “It is a significant achievement for us that more than 1,500 driver partners have completed the course and received certificates.
Drivers spend a lot of time on the road every day and face various situations. Therefore, providing them with practical safety information is extremely important.
Through this course, we aim to make our driver partners more confident, aware, and prepared while providing services. The course also provides necessary information on how to perform their daily work completely safely and vigilantly, along with issues to consider when using the app.”
Manjita Gurung, Communications Manager at inDrive Nepal, said, “The course was prepared in a simple, short, and easy-to-understand manner with the aim that driver partners would not have to allocate much time away from their regular work.
The feedback we have received shows that practical and easily understandable safety training can have a positive impact on drivers’ daily work routines.”
Bishal Pakhrin, an inDrive motorcycle driver partner who completed the course, said, “I spend a lot of time on the road riding my motorcycle every day. This course reminded me again of the importance of safety matters that are sometimes overlooked during daily work, thinking they are normal.

Especially information related to road safety, emergency situations, and the SOS feature proved useful. I was able to get clearer information on what to do if a sudden problem arises.”
Similarly, Kamal Ghimire, an inDrive cab driver partner, said, “This course helped me understand that safe driving is not just about driving carefully.
How to communicate with passengers, maintain professional conduct, and handle various situations that may arise during a trip are equally important. The training was simple, useful, and directly related to our daily work.”
Three Main Modules of the Safe Driving Online Course
Course B – On-Platform Safety and Professional Boundaries
This module focuses on how to maintain safe, respectful, and professional conduct with passengers while providing services through the platform. It also covers identifying and maintaining necessary professional boundaries during a trip.
Course B – Basic Knowledge of Road Safety for Ride-Hailing
Prepared with the actual conditions of ride-hailing services in mind, this module includes information on defensive driving practices, precautions to be taken in high-traffic areas and unfamiliar locations, and daily useful road safety practices.
Course C – Emergency Situations, Reporting, and SOS Usage
This module aims to help driver partners respond calmly, safely, and effectively in emergency situations. It includes how to use the SOS feature available in the inDrive app and how to report an incident through appropriate channels.
inDrive has stated that it will continue such practical training and awareness programs in the future, prioritizing the safety and professional development of its driver partners.
