In a landmark event recognizing pivotal contributions to Nepal’s information and communications technology (ICT) sector, Mr. Chiranjibi Adhikari, General Secretary of the Federation of Computer Association Nepal (CAN), has been honored with the ICT Excellence Award 2024.

The Chandralok Foundation bestowed this prestigious award, acknowledging Mr. Adhikari’s significant efforts in advancing and expanding ICT across the nation. The award ceremony, held on Monday, featured de facto Prime Minister of Nepal, Khil Raj Regmi, as the Chief Guest who presented the award.

Mr. Adhikari : A Pioneering Force in Cybersecurity and ICT

Mr. Chiranjibi Adhikari, a resident of Bharatpur Municipality in the Chitwan district, is highly esteemed for his expertise in cybersecurity and networking. He holds numerous global certifications and has made remarkable strides in the ICT field.

His extensive body of work includes articles published in both national and international journals, addressing critical topics such as information security, IT governance, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence in cybersecurity, and information security management systems.

Over Two Decades of Influence

With over 21 years of experience in ICT, Mr. Adhikari is a prominent figure in Nepal’s cybersecurity landscape. His dedication to education and raising cybersecurity awareness is evident through the 500+ programs he has conducted nationwide.

These initiatives have targeted community schools, government agencies, and the private sector, significantly enhancing the country’s cybersecurity posture.

Founding Pillars of Key Organizations

In addition to his role at CAN, Mr. Adhikari is the visionary behind several key organizations in Nepal’s ICT sector. He is the Founder President of the Information Security Response Team Nepal (#npCert) and the Center for Cybersecurity Research and Innovation (#CSRI).

He also serves as the Managing Director of One Cover Private Limited, a leading cybersecurity company in Nepal. His academic contributions are equally noteworthy, with teaching roles at institutions such as Softwarica College of IT and E-Commerce and Texas College of Management and IT.

Mr. Adhikari’s family is also deeply involved in the ICT sector of Nepal. His spouse is the Chief Editor of ICT Frame Magazine, the first women-led tech magazine and portal in Nepal.
