11 Bhadra, Kathmandu.

Global IME Bank Limited has announced that it will provide financial assistance of Rs 5 crore to the ‘Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund’ for the search, rescue, immediate relief, and long-term rehabilitation of citizens affected by the severe sudden floods in the Bhotekoshi River.

The devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi River have caused extensive erosion and inundation in riverine areas including Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, and Chitwan, resulting in significant human and physical damage.

The strong current of the river has claimed the lives of hundreds of citizens prematurely, left many missing, and displaced hundreds of families, rendering them homeless. Additionally, the river has swept away local settlements, bridges, road networks, and hydropower projects, causing unprecedented devastation.

Extending heartfelt condolences to the citizens who lost their lives in the floods and landslides, and expressing deep sympathy to the bereaved families, the bank stated that it has provided this assistance under its corporate social responsibility to support the search for the missing, treatment of the injured, immediate provision of food and shelter for the affected, and the long-term reconstruction of damaged structures.

Previously, the bank has also been at the forefront, continuously providing financial, material, and humanitarian assistance during severe floods, landslides, inundation, earthquakes, and epidemics in various parts of the country.

Honored in various national and international categories for its modern technology and excellent customer service over a long period, this bank has already received the titles of ‘Bank of the Year 2014’, ‘Best Internet Bank 2016’, and ‘Best Bank Nepal’ consecutively in 2024, 2025, and 2026. Similarly, the bank has also won prestigious awards such as the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2022, 2024, and 2025, Best Bank ESG Nepal 2024, and Best Employer.

Global IME Bank is the first commercial bank in the private sector to expand its branch network across all 77 districts of the country. Currently, the bank provides services to customers through a total of more than 1,000 service centers, including 341 branch offices, 368 ATMs, 147 branchless banking services, 69 extension and revenue collection counters, and 3 foreign representative offices.

Additionally, the bank has been making a significant contribution to the national economy by bringing in remittances through formal channels from various countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, and India.
