Ncell Foundation provides 10 Million Rupees Aid to Bhote Koshi Flood Victims

September 11, Kathmandu.

Ncell has announced a financial aid of Rs. 1 crore (10 million rupees) to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund for the rescue, relief, and rehabilitation of those affected by the massive flood that occurred in the Bhote Koshi River in Rasuwa yesterday, Wednesday.

Due to the flood, there has been significant loss of life and property in the coastal areas of districts like Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, and Gorkha. Given the immediate need for rescue, relief, and rehabilitation of the affected general public, Ncell has announced this support at the government’s call.

Ncell has expressed heartfelt condolences to all who lost their lives in this tragic incident and deep sympathy to the bereaved families. It also wished for the swift rescue and relief management of those missing and affected.

Ncell has also been supporting the affected communities through communication services during this difficult time of disaster. For Ncell customers in the flood-affected areas, voice and data services, along with 100 SMS, have been made available free of charge for 3 days, effective from yesterday.

This initiative is expected to help affected citizens stay in easy contact with their families, relatives, and rescue and relief teams.

Ncell’s Corporate Communications, Marketing and Sustainability Director, Bishakha Laxmi Khadka, said, “Standing with the affected people in this difficult time of disaster is our collective responsibility. We have decided to provide Rs. 1 crore (10 million rupees) in aid with the aim of supporting the government and relevant bodies in their rescue, relief, and rehabilitation efforts. We want to inform you that in this adverse situation, we stand with the affected families and communities.”

Ncell has been supporting rescue, relief, and rehabilitation efforts during various natural disasters in the past. The company has pledged to continue possible support and cooperation in the coming days, keeping in mind the needs and conditions of the affected communities.
