Rathi Trading Launches State-of-the-art Service Center and Powerful Charging Network in Bhaktapur

Rathi Trading Company Pvt. Ltd., the official distributor for Nepal of RZM brand vehicles manufactured by the renowned Chinese company SAIC Motors, has launched a state-of-the-art service center and a charging network.

The company has launched Rathi Auto Works and Rathi Charging Network located in Manohara, Bhaktapur. In a program on Wednesday, Mr. Ken Sun, International General Manager of SAIC Motors, and Dinesh Kumar Rathi, Chairman of Rathi Trading Company, formally inaugurated Rathi Auto Works and Rathi Charging Network.

On the occasion, Ken Sun, International General Manager of SAIC RZM Auto, stated that the company is working with the aim of providing quality EVs along with the increasing use of EVs in Nepal, and also emphasized on spare parts and other networks.

Dinesh Kumar Rathi, Chairman of Rathi Trading Company, said that providing good service to customers after vehicle sales, making necessary spare parts available, and building reliable charging facilities are the company’s main responsibilities, and the workshop and charging network are a commitment to that.

Manoj Khatiwada, CEO of Rathi Trading Company, emphasized the need to pay special attention to the charging network for EVs after vehicle sales, and accordingly, the company is expanding service and charging networks across the country.

During the program, Police Deputy Inspector Bikram Bik of Traffic Police Division, Gatthaghar, gave an informative presentation on the necessary awareness to be adopted while driving, and stated that more caution is required for EVs as they use a lot of technology.

In this service center, where electric vehicles can be serviced and charged at the same location, 12 vehicles can be charged simultaneously. It has various facilities according to international standards.

There is ample parking, necessary seating arrangements for customers, a cafe, and a system to watch live activities happening in the workshop. Various facilities including servicing, charging, and washing will be available at the same location.

All necessary spare parts, lubricants, and electrical parts for servicing are in stock. Arrangements have been made to make common parts available anywhere in Nepal within 48 hours and other parts within 72 hours.

Currently, a 480 kW capacity charging station has become operational in Kathmandu. This is one of the fastest charging stations available in Nepal. A 480 kW charger can be used here.

The company has also launched a 640 kW charging station in Gaindakot, Nawalparasi. This year, the company plans to expand charging stations from east to west in major cities across the country and establish 4 MW charging stations with all facilities. These charging stations will operate as one-stop solutions.

Rathi Trading is making available for sale two models of RZM EV vans, E5 and R5, manufactured by the renowned Chinese company SAIC Motors.

The RZM E5 uses a 53.5 kWh CATL third-generation battery. It provides a range of approximately 300 kilometers on a single charge as per WLTP.

Similarly, the R5 has 77.28 and 86.55 kWh batteries, which provide a range of up to 330 and 400 kilometers on a single charge. It can be charged in just 45 minutes using a 60 kW charger.

RZM EV vans, with 180 mm ground clearance, feature bucket seats, disc brakes on all four wheels including an electric parking brake, auto hold, hill assist, powerful AC, 64-inch internal height, diamond-cut alloy wheels and a spare wheel, and underbody protection, among other features.

These vehicles have become the choice of many because they are tested on Nepali roads and improved accordingly to provide excellence. The company provides a warranty of 7 years or 400,000 kilometers on the battery and 5 years or 200,000 kilometers on the motor and other components.
