KIST Medical College and Teaching Hospital is set to launch the ‘KIST At Home’ service to provide healthcare services to patients at home.
Through this service, which the hospital is launching in collaboration with Health At Home Nepal, specialized healthcare services available at the hospital, skilled manpower, laboratory, and health examination facilities will be delivered to patients’ homes as needed.
‘KIST At Home’ will operate as an integrated healthcare service unit of KIST Teaching Hospital itself. The hospital has stated that the service is being launched with the aim of continuously connecting patients with healthcare services before, during, and after treatment.
Under the service, in-home nursing services, doctor visits at home, physiotherapy, elder care, post-surgery care, blood and other sample collection at home, chronic disease management, end-of-life patient care, vaccination, caregiver-related services, telemedicine, and post-health check-up consultations will be available.
Similarly, medical equipment will be made available for rent as needed, in-home intensive care and critical patient care, and patient transport services will also be operated.
‘KIST At Home’ will also offer pre-hospitalization healthcare services. In emergency situations, arrangements will be made to bring patients to the hospital via ambulance and patient transport services according to their condition. If patients receiving treatment at home require further treatment, arrangements will also be made to easily connect them with the hospital’s services.

According to the hospital, even if patients receive healthcare services at home, they will not be disconnected from the healthcare network of KIST Teaching Hospital. Specialist doctors, medical officers, nurses, and other healthcare workers from the hospital can be mobilized as needed.
Blood and other samples collected at home will be tested in the laboratory of KIST Teaching Hospital, and their reports will be provided. The hospital has stated that patients’ health-related details will be managed through the hospital’s health information management system, and the confidentiality of health records will be maintained.
This service, which is being launched in collaboration between KIST Teaching Hospital and Health At Home Nepal, is expected to connect hospital-based treatment with healthcare services available at home.
This service is especially expected to be beneficial for patients who require health monitoring at home after surgery, senior citizens, chronic patients, those needing physiotherapy, and patients in the end stage of life.
The hospital has stated that the main objective of ‘KIST At Home’ is to deliver the hospital’s quality healthcare services to patients’ homes.
