NADA’s 50-Year Journey: 18th NADA Auto Show 2026 to be Held as a Golden Jubilee Edition from August 25 at Bhrikutimandap
August 20, Kathmandu.
The small organization established in 1975 by a limited number of vehicle importers and businessmen in Nepal has now completed five decades and reached the point of celebrating its Golden Jubilee.
NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal is going to organize ‘HP Lubricants Presents 18th NADA Auto Show 2026’ on the occasion of its 50-year historic journey, from Bhadra 9 to 14 (August 25 to 30) at Bhrikutimandap Exhibition Hall in Kathmandu.
This exhibition, spreading over an area of approximately three hundred thousand square feet at Bhrikutimandap, will feature more than 200 stalls. The fair will have direct participation from 23 four-wheeler (passenger vehicle) brands, 17 light and medium commercial vehicle (LCV) brands, and 13 two-wheeler brands.
Additionally, about 70 companies related to parts, tires, batteries, lubricants, charging infrastructure, and garage equipment, along with 10 banks, financial institutions, and insurance companies, will also participate.
Over the past five decades, the Nepalese automobile sector has made remarkable progress. Currently, approximately 5.5 million vehicles have been registered in Nepal. In the last five fiscal years alone, Nepal imported vehicles and related materials worth approximately NPR 470 billion, from which the state received around NPR 351 billion in customs revenue, making the automobile sector the main backbone of the national treasury.

Similarly, moving towards Green Mobility, approximately 63,000 electric vehicles (EVs) have entered the country, and a network of about 2,000 charging stations has been prepared for them.
According to NADA President Surendra Kumar Upreti, this Golden Jubilee edition is not just a celebration of an organization but an evaluation of the entire industry’s contribution. “Fifty years is enough time to start measuring an industry not by ‘how much it sold,’ but by ‘how much it sustains.’ The exhibition we are opening on Bhadra 9 is precisely that,” said President Upreti.
NADA has continuously played a leading role in developing Nepal’s automobile sector not just as limited to import and sales, but as a major driver of employment generation, revenue collection, expansion of green technology, and overall economic dynamism.
This historic milestone of fifty years is expected to provide a new direction for making Nepalese roads and transportation systems more modern, safe, and environmentally friendly.
