18th NADA Auto Show: 35,000 Crowd on Saturday Amidst Growing Attraction Towards EVs
Bhadra 13, Kathmandu.
The crowd of visitors at the 18th edition of the NADA Auto Show, currently underway at Bhrikutimandap, significantly increased on Saturday. According to the organizers, approximately 35,000 people visited the auto show on Saturday alone.
On the first day of the auto show, which started on Tuesday, around 30,000 people visited. However, due to the flood in the Bhote Koshi region on Wednesday and the resulting situation, the footfall of visitors at the auto show had somewhat decreased.
The organizer, NADA Automobile Association of Nepal, stated that the number of visitors started increasing again from Friday, and an enthusiastic crowd was observed on Saturday.
As Saturday was a public holiday, a large presence of customers planning to purchase new vehicles was observed from the morning. Specifically, there was a higher concentration of visitors at the stalls of new electric cars, motorcycles, and scooters.
The introduction of new models and new brands at this year’s NADA Auto Show has also increased visitor attraction. Approximately two dozen new models have been launched, and about half a dozen new automobile brands have marked their presence in the Nepali market through the NADA Auto Show.
Among four-wheelers, special attraction has been observed towards EVs. A large crowd of visitors has been seen at the stalls of new models such as Nami Vego, Nami Box, New Nexon, Punch EV, BYD Atto 2, Jaecoo J5, Chery Q, Xion, Arcfox T-One, ORA 05, Leapmotor B03, and Proton Emars 5.

Amidst the growing attraction of EVs, customer interest in petrol vehicles also remains. Customers are keenly gathering information about petrol cars such as the new Suzuki Brezza, Jimny, and All-New Hyundai Venue.
Among two-wheelers, a crowd of people wanting to see and understand new models like the domestically produced Yatri P, Yamaha XSR 155, Yamaha R15, Yamaha Fascino, Aprilia SR 176, and Xtreme 250R has been observed. Regarding hybrid vehicles, visitor interest has also been noted in BAIC BJ30E, M Hero One, and BYD Shark.
This year’s auto show features 53 vehicle brands, including 23 passenger cars, 17 light commercial vehicles, and 13 two-wheeler brands. Additionally, more than 200 stalls have been set up for auto parts, tires, batteries, lubricants, accessories, banks and financial institutions, and insurance companies.
Along with new models, attractive discounts, booking schemes, and financial facilities offered by companies have also created an environment for customers to purchase vehicles at the auto show itself. Particularly, there has been greater customer interest in cars, new motorcycles, and scooters in the price range of NRs 30 to 50 lakhs.
As the event runs until Bhadra 14, organizers expect the number of visitors to further increase by the final day.
Businesspersons state that the enthusiasm observed on Saturday at this year’s NADA Auto Show, held amidst a slowdown in the automobile business, indicates that customer interest in the Nepali auto market remains strong.
