Over 100,000 Visitors in 4 Days at the Ongoing NAIMA Expo in Bhrikutimandap, Special Preparations for Further Attraction

Due to the unexpected increase in attraction at the ongoing ‘NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026’ in Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu, special preparations have been made for the holiday days.

The organizer, Nepal Automobiles Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA), which had expected an average of 25,000 visitors daily and around 150,000 visitors throughout the fair, has made special preparations for Saturday and Sunday, considering the visitor numbers up to the fourth day.

NAIMA, which expects more visitors on holidays than on other days, has primarily made special arrangements for parking. Rajkumar Dulal, Executive Director of NAIMA, informed that special management of parking facilities has been made for the convenience of visitors.

‘In the first four days, despite the open areas in the Bhrikutimandap vicinity and both floors of the Nepal Police Club building being packed, there was still a lack of parking space,’ he said. ‘Due to the significant participation of visitors, we have made special preparations for parking for Saturday and Sunday.’

According to Shrijal Bhattarai, Managing Director of Media Space Solutions, the expo’s management partner, visitors start queuing at the Bhrikutimandap gate even before the expo begins. ‘The expo venue opens at 11 AM, but visitors arrive as early as 10 AM,’ he said. ‘This level of attraction has made us very enthusiastic.’

Navina Nakarmai from Purano Thimi, Bhaktapur, also stated that more people than she expected had arrived at the fairground. ‘I used to come to previous auto fairs too,’ she said, ‘but I haven’t seen such a large crowd before.

She, who has good knowledge of vehicle brands, features, and facilities, stated that she has a special interest in visiting auto fairs.

By the third day, over 108,000 people had visited the fair. On the inaugural day, August 11, 29,000 people visited, on the second day 26,000, and on the third day 22,000, while today, over 31,000 have visited.

More than 55 brands of vehicles are on display at the fair. Distributor companies are attracting visitors to their stalls by showcasing new models of vehicles.

With many options available, visitors at the fairground find it easy to choose the vehicle they desire.

There is also a significant crowd of visitors for two-wheelers. Particularly, young people show attraction towards expensive brands.

Visitors have stated that the NAIMA Expo is an important opportunity to book a car according to their capacity. Visitors are particularly interested in topics such as battery capacity, motor, range, after-sales service, battery warranty/guarantee, and resale value.

Companies have also provided various facilities to attract customers. They have offered discounts on prices, one year of insurance, one year of vehicle tax, free servicing, and low-interest loans.

So far at the fair, various brands have launched 52 new models of vehicles. Approximately 150,000 visitors are expected throughout the fair period.

Today, the NAIMA Mobility Dialogue discussed the topic of Technical: Battery Recycle and Ethanol Blending in Fuel. The dialogue was facilitated by Deepak Thapaliya, General Manager of Laxmi Group, with Suresh Shrestha, Senior Divisional Engineer at Vehicle Fitness Test Center, Management and Homologation Expert Prof. Dr. Balraj Bhanot, Jatin Makkar, Business Partnerships AGM at Lohum Cleantech Pvt. Ltd. India, Automobile Industry and Mobility Sector Expert Akash Golchha, Sagar Gajurel, immediate past president of Association for Automobile and Mobility- JAAM Nepal, and Karan Khurana, Founder and CEO of ReBAT, participating as panelists.

On Thursday’s NAIMA Mobility Dialogue, there was a discussion and interaction on ‘Mobilizing Mobility through Finance & Insurance’. Wednesday’s Learning Sessions featured a discussion and interaction on ‘Mobility: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow’, while on Tuesday, the first day of the expo, the topic ‘Investment and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI): Mobilizing-Fuel for Economic Growth’ was discussed. The ‘NAIMA Mobility Dialogue’ will be conducted throughout the expo period with the participation of national and international experts.

The second edition of the expo, organized with the objective of promoting a sustainable, green, and technology-friendly transportation system in Nepal, will run until August 16. The expo features significant participation from domestic and multinational vehicle manufacturers and importers.

From brands entering Nepal for the first time to other new models of electric cars, e-scooters, and electric commercial vehicles are the main attractions at the expo.

Banks and financial institutions, along with insurance companies, are offering special deals and concessional loans for vehicle purchases at the expo.
