Technology and Education Collaboration: MoU Signed Between CAN Federation and Durshikshya for National School Innovation League
August 1, Kathmandu.
With the aim of promoting technology education and digital literacy across the country, an historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Computer Association Nepal Federation (CAN Federation) and Durshikshya Education Network Pvt. Ltd.
Under this strategic partnership, CAN Federation has become the official Strategic Partner of the National School Innovation League (NSIL), while Durshikshya has been declared the official Robotics Education Partner of CAN Federation.
Key Features of the Strategic Partnership
Expansion of NSIL: The prestigious robotics and innovation competition, organized for students from grades 3 to 10, aims to expand to all seven provinces of Nepal, with a national grand finale planned in Kathmandu.
Capacity Building for Students and Teachers: Joint initiatives will include teacher training programs, student bootcamps, and opportunities will be created for students from Nepali schools to participate in international technology competitions.
Participation of Community Schools: This partnership will give special priority to community and government schools by providing reserved participation quotas, sponsored kits, and training.
Connecting Industry and Education: Through CAN Federation’s network of provincial and district branches, school-level innovations will be connected with professional guidance, judging panels, internships, and major technology exhibitions like CAN Info-Tech.

Clarifying the long-term vision of the partnership, Chiranjeevi Adhikari, Acting President of CAN Federation, stated:
“This league acts as a catalyst to introduce and sustain deep, transformative innovation within colleges and across international borders, thereby fostering ‘ICT For Excellence’ by enhancing student success and institutional excellence.”
Similarly, shedding light on the main objectives of this platform, Krishna Prasad Pandey, CEO of Durshikshya Education Network, said:
“The primary objectives of the National School Innovation League are to promote hands-on technological learning, bridge the gap between theory and practical application, and inspire young students to create technology-driven solutions for real-world community challenges and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).”
At this program held in Kathmandu, Mr. Chandra Bilash Bhurtel, General Secretary of CAN Federation, and Mr. Mahesh Aryal, Executive Director of Durshikshya, were also present.
This collaboration is expected to be a significant milestone in building Nepal’s digital future by developing practical problem-solving, engineering, and artificial intelligence (AI) skills among the younger generation.
