Ncell has extended the duration of its free voice, data, and SMS services, which it has been providing to flood-affected areas to facilitate communication, search, rescue, and relief distribution, by an additional seven days, effective from tomorrow, Saturday. With this, these services of the company will now be available free of charge for another week in the affected areas.
Previously, on Wednesday, Ncell had announced that it would provide free data, on-net voice, and 100 free SMS for three days in areas affected by the devastating floods in the Bhote Koshi River in Rasuwa, and it had been providing services accordingly. The three-day period ends today.
During a disaster, communication services play a crucial role in effective information exchange, mutual coordination, and rescue and relief efforts.
The company has stated that it extended the free service period to make it easier for people in the affected communities to stay in touch with family, relatives, and teams involved in rescue and relief.
“We believe that this contribution will help affected communities stay in touch with their families and relatives during this disaster, and facilitate necessary coordination for teams engaged in rescue and relief work. It is the responsibility of all of us to provide as much support as possible during this difficult time,” said Upang Dutta, Chief Consumer Business Officer at Ncell.

18 Towers Re-operational: Ncell has been continuously working to maintain communication services during the disaster and assisting in emergency search, rescue, and relief operations.
The company has re-operated 18 of its mobile towers that were disrupted in flood-affected areas, and is also working to re-operate 9 other affected towers.
Similarly, on Thursday, Ncell contributed Rs. 1 crore through the Ncell Foundation to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund with the aim of supporting search, rescue, relief, and rehabilitation efforts.
Additionally, Ncell has been urging the general public in flood-affected areas to follow safety guidelines issued by relevant authorities to stay safe, and has been disseminating necessary information through SMS and its social media pages and accounts.
