August 14, Kathmandu.
Pashupatinath’s ‘Let’s Clean’ campaign concludes, with over 500 volunteers participating: The month-long cleanliness campaign, run by Creation Nepal, concluded with the support of The Coca-Cola Foundation and in collaboration with the Pashupati Area Development Trust.
Under the ‘Let’s Clean’ campaign run by Creation Nepal, a special cleanliness program, which was conducted on Mondays throughout the month of Shrawan, has concluded at the Pashupatinath Temple premises.
More than 500 volunteers, students, sanitation workers, and representatives from various partner organizations participated in this campaign, which was conducted during the busiest religious pilgrimage period of the year.
Led by Creation Nepal, this campaign, with the support of The Coca-Cola Foundation and in collaboration with the Pashupati Area Development Trust, contributed to waste management and cleanliness, keeping in mind the increased influx of devotees in the Pashupatinath temple area during the month of Shrawan.
As millions of devotees and visitors arrive at Pashupatinath throughout the month of Shrawan, the campaign was conducted to activate local staff and volunteers in waste management and the cleanliness of the temple premises, to ensure proper waste management, and to encourage the habit of not littering indiscriminately.
This has helped create a cleaner and more hygienic environment for devotees and visitors.
The concluding program was attended by Aditya Panda, Director of the Sustainability, Environmental, Social, and Governance Value Addition Department; Ajay Konale, Managing Director of Bottlers Nepal Limited; Aruna Karki, Chairperson of Creation Nepal; Anand Mishra, Founder of Creation; representatives of the Pashupati Area Development Trust; and other distinguished personalities.
Carlos Pagoaga, President of The Coca-Cola Foundation, said, “Collaboration is crucial for improving waste management and promoting responsible behavior. Through the ‘Let’s Clean’ campaign, we aim to help local communities become active and capable in better waste management.
This also contributes to keeping public spaces clean and being environmentally responsible in the long term.”

In the program conducted every Monday throughout the month of Shrawan, volunteers worked with over two dozen sanitation workers each week to collect and segregate waste. Additionally, public awareness was raised about proper waste management, the importance of cleanliness, and the need for collective efforts in protecting Nepal’s religious and cultural heritage.
Aruna Karki, Chairperson of Creation Nepal, expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to making the campaign successful despite various challenges, and said, “Our goal is to expand the support and collaboration of The Coca-Cola Foundation nationwide in the coming days. ‘Let’s Clean’ should be understood not as a one-time program but as a continuous national campaign.”
Mr. Tirtha Prasad Shrestha, Member-Secretary of the Pashupati Area Development Trust, said, “We extend our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to The Coca-Cola Foundation for their significant support and contribution to the environmental protection and preservation of the Pashupati area.
We also look forward to similar support and collaboration in the future.” As part of the program, seating benches made from recycled plastic bottles were also inaugurated.
This conveyed the message that the concept of recycling plastic waste and transforming it into public utility materials can be put into practice.
Volunteers, sanitation workers, and partner organizations who contributed to the campaign were also honored at the program. The Pashupati Area Development Trust presented a certificate of appreciation to The Coca-Cola Foundation for its continuous support.
Additionally, certificates of appreciation were presented to volunteers and sanitation workers who actively participated in the campaign for four weeks.
Continuing the enthusiasm gained from this Shrawan month’s campaign, the ‘Let’s Clean’ campaign will conduct various cleanliness and awareness-raising activities until Haritalika Teej on September 14, 2026.
The campaign aims to increase community participation, promote proper waste management and sustainable practices, and contribute to the preservation of Nepal’s cultural and religious heritage.
