NADA Auto Show 2026 Affected by Rasuwa Flood, Decline in Visitor Numbers
September 13, Kathmandu.
Due to the devastating flood in Rasuwa, the NADA Auto Show 2026 ongoing in Kathmandu has been affected.
The auto show has not seen the expected attendance of visitors.
Although some crowd was observed on Saturday during the show organized by NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal (NADA) from September 9 to 14, the impact of the devastating disaster was visible in the two days following the opening ceremony.
However, NADA Auto Show 2026 coordinator Anup Baral informed that the crowd of visitors increased on Saturday.
‘The first day of the auto show was very good, but on the second day, a major accident occurred in the country. It is natural for the attendance to be a little low because people do not have interest in events when their hearts are devastated.
We must consider this natural,’ said coordinator Baral. ‘In such circumstances, we also shifted our priority to collecting relief and working on how we can help in the affected areas. We are working by dividing our team.’
He informed that there was a significant presence on the first day of the auto show, it decreased on the second day, and the flow became very good after 12 PM on the third day. Visitor attendance also increased after 1 PM on the fourth day.

He informed that hundreds of vehicles and auto materials from companies associated with NADA were lost in the flood-affected areas, drivers went missing, and a large number of containers carrying spare parts also disappeared.
Stating that the northern Rasuwa border crossing is a priority for the automobile sector, he also said that efforts should be made to immediately find alternatives and identify roads to open new routes.
Baral emphasized that everyone should unite to keep the economy dynamic even in difficult times and that they should proceed with caution.
‘In times like these, we should not panic, nor should we resort to blame; we must work collectively and with restraint. Rescuing the injured, searching for the deceased, and recovering submerged and lost items should be prioritized.
NADA is also seriously looking into the hardships faced by businesses,’ he said.
This 18th edition of the auto show is being organized on the occasion of the golden jubilee, marking the 50th anniversary of NADA’s establishment. The show will conclude tomorrow, on the 14th.
