Cooperation among all security agencies is essential for excellent urban management: Acting Chief Dangol

Kathmandu Metropolitan City Acting Chief Sunita Dangol stated that the Metropolitan Police Force should be advanced as a mechanism that works day and night for the proper management of Kathmandu.

Speaking at the 34th-anniversary ceremony of the Metropolitan Police Force on Sunday, Dangol said that the Metropolitan Police Force is not just an organization and structure of the metropolis, but also a mechanism that citizens trust to make Kathmandu disciplined and well-managed.

She said, ‘The Metropolitan Police Force is not just an organization and structure of Kathmandu Metropolitan City. It is a mechanism that resolutely moves forward in good management, working day and night. It is a mechanism that citizens trust to make Kathmandu disciplined and well-managed.’

Stating that the Metropolitan Police is not limited to enforcing metropolitan laws, rules, and orders, she added that the Metropolitan Police is also playing an important role in the areas of humanitarian service.

She said, ‘Our Metropolitan Police is not limited to merely enforcing laws, rules, and orders. You all have worked based on humanity to build the city, provide assistance to the helpless, work on urban hygiene and sanitation, and served on the front lines during times of disaster.’

Dangol said that such activities of the Metropolitan Police are playing an important role in enhancing the public image of Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

She emphasized that the metropolis should make cooperation with all security agencies, including Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and Traffic Police, more strategic and results-oriented in the coming days.

She said, ‘The cooperation that Kathmandu Metropolitan City undertakes, along with the Metropolitan Police, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Traffic Police, and all other security agencies, now needs to be strategic and results-oriented. I urge that we move forward collaboratively in this.’

Although development partners and security agencies have their own rights and limitations, she stated that the spirit of service for excellent urban management should not be limited.

She said, ‘Development partners and security agencies have their own rights and limitations. But we want our spirit of service in excellent urban management not to be hindered by boundaries.’
