Kathmandu Medical College (KMC), on the initiative of Nepali Congress leader and social worker Dr. Sunil Kumar Sharma, has organized a free health camp in Nuwakot targeting citizens affected by the Bhote Koshi flood.
A team of senior KMC doctors provided health check-ups and treatment services to flood-affected citizens at the camp, which was organized at the holding center of Chandrajyoti Secondary School in Pipaltar, Bidur Municipality-5.
KMC stated that patients who came to the camp received health check-ups, medical consultations, and medication distribution as needed. Arrangements were also made to refer patients requiring further treatment to the hospital for care.
KMC stated that the camp was organized directly in the affected area with the aim of preventing additional financial burden for treatment on citizens who lost their homes, property, and sources of income due to the flood.

Patients requiring immediate treatment were treated at the camp, and arrangements were made to bring patients with complex health problems to the hospital for further treatment.
KMC had already announced that it would provide necessary treatment free of charge to citizens affected by the Bhote Koshi flood. The hospital stated that organizing the health camp in the affected area is a continuation of that campaign.
On Sharma’s initiative, KMC has previously also been providing free health services to economically disadvantaged citizens and those far from access to treatment.
The hospital has been providing free treatment and necessary assistance at various times to citizens ranging from those with complex diseases and those requiring surgery to those with weak financial conditions.
