According to scriptural belief, unmarried young people traditionally observe the Teej fast to find a virtuous spouse. On the Haritalika Teej festival, celebrated on the third day of Bhadra Shukla, Lord Mahadev, the god of gods, is worshipped.
There is a religious belief that by observing a fast and worshipping Shiva and Parvati on Bhadra Shukla Tritiya, one attains family happiness, peace, and well-being.
