LP Gas Price in Kathmandu Valley at Old Rate, Instructions to Sell at Rs 2,060 Per Cylinder
Ashoj 2, Kathmandu.
The Nepal LP Gas Industries Association has instructed industrialists to sell and distribute LP gas in Kathmandu Valley at the old rate (Rs 2,060 per cylinder). The association reinstated the previous price by removing the additional amount charged for transportation after an alternative track opened on the Prithvi Highway, allowing gas bullets to come directly to Kathmandu.
On Bhadra 14, the road was obstructed after a massive flood in the Trishuli River in the Krishna Bhir area cut off the Prithvi Highway. Due to the road obstruction, to ensure easy gas supply in the Valley, industrialists were refilling cylinders from plants in Makwanpur, Parsa, Bara, Chitwan, Nawalparasi, and Dhanusha and bringing gas to the Valley via trucks through alternative routes. As transportation costs increased due to the use of long and alternative routes, the association issued a statement on Bhadra 18, requesting to sell at a maximum of Rs 2,165.38 per cylinder, adding Rs 105.38 as transportation fare to the Rs 2,060 per cylinder fixed by Nepal Oil Corporation.

However, the association has stated that the compulsion to bring gas through alternative routes has now been removed as an alternative track has opened in the obstructed road section, and transport has resumed, allowing gas bullets to enter the Valley directly.
According to the statement issued by the association’s president, Diwan Chand, effective from Ashoj 2, i.e., today, all gas industrialists have been urged to sell and distribute gas at no more than Rs 2,060 per cylinder as fixed by the corporation, and to inform their respective dealers accordingly.
