Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) exported electricity worth 5,092,461,282 rupees in the month of Bhadra alone. During this period, the Authority exported a total of 565,606,443 units of electricity to the Indian states of Haryana and Bihar, and Bangladesh.
According to the Authority, in the month of Bhadra, by exporting 421,621,288 units of electricity through bilateral agreements, an income of 3,642,528,299 rupees was generated.
Similarly, by exporting 143,985,155 units of electricity through the electricity market, a transaction of 1,449,932,983 rupees was recorded.

Although the share of exports through bilateral agreements was higher in the total export of Bhadra month, a significant amount of electricity was also exported through the electricity market. Meanwhile, due to the flood in Bhotekoshi, after damage to the structures of Chilime and Trishuli Hydropower Centers, electricity export to Bangladesh has currently been halted.
The Authority has stated that it has already requested the Indian side for the necessary approval to resume electricity export to Bangladesh from other hydropower centers. Nepal Electricity Authority has expressed a commitment to make electricity export more convenient, systematic, and reliable in the coming days.
