West Finance Completes ‘Green Savings’ Deposit Scheme and Tree Planting Program for a Green Future
25 Saun, Kathmandu.
With the objective of implementing the “Nepal Green Finance Taxonomy, 2024” issued by Nepal Rastra Bank and promoting Green Finance, West Finance has launched the “Green Savings” deposit scheme.
Under this deposit scheme, the institution has arranged for one plant to be planted on behalf of each account holder. Under this same scheme, coinciding with Community Forest Day 2083 and embracing this year’s slogan “The Future Path of Community Forest: Youth Participation, Green Economy, and Sustainable Management”, a tree planting program was conducted in Godawari Municipality Ward No. 5, Lalitpur, on the initiative of West Finance in collaboration with the Mahat Gaun Sallaghari Community Forest Users Committee and with the support of the District Forest Office Lalitpur.
Arrangements have been made for the Mahat Gaun Sallaghari Community Forest Users Committee to regularly weed, fertilize, and protect the planted saplings, plant another sapling in place of any dead ones, and conserve and manage the planted saplings for at least five years.

More than 120 individuals participated in the tree planting program, including Prof. Dr. Ramji Gautam, Chairman of West Finance Company Limited, members of the Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officer BN Gharti, finance staff, Ranjita Mahat, Chairperson of Mahat Gaun Sallaghari Community Forest Users Group and executive committee members, Sanjok Shrestha, District Forest Officer of District Forest Office, Lalitpur, Shanta Kumar Shrestha, Forest Officer of Bajrabarahi Sub-Division Forest Office, Chairman of Godawari Municipality Ward No. 5, Lele Police Office, Armed Police Force, students from Amarkranti Secondary English School and Saraswati School, local public representatives, community forest users, and the local community.
