13 Bhadra, Kathmandu.

Chaudhary Foundation and Nabil Bank have announced a multi-phase relief and rehabilitation program for flood-affected communities.

Expressing deep sorrow over the loss of life and property caused by the devastating flood in Rasuwa on Bhadra 10, Chaudhary Foundation and Nabil Bank have committed approximately 15 crore rupees as part of a shared commitment to support flood-affected communities in relief, rehabilitation, and reconstruction.

This fund will be utilized to implement a comprehensive multi-phase relief and rehabilitation program. The issued press release states that it aims to address the immediate needs of flood-affected families and provide them with necessary support to move from emergency relief towards safe housing, rehabilitation, and long-term community resilience.

In the first phase, Chaudhary Foundation and Nabil Bank have been providing food, essential vaccines, and health supplies to affected families, and this work will be continued.

Similarly, the relief package will provide essential items including ready-to-eat food, drinking water, biscuits, clothing, tarpaulins, and personal hygiene materials. It is reported that relief has been delivered to the affected areas since Bhadra 11.

Employees of Chaudhary Foundation and Nabil Bank have themselves been mobilized at the local level. In collaboration with local administration, two organized relief camps have been established in Nuwakot and Rasuwa, providing daily meals to the affected communities.

Additionally, in collaboration with Dhulikhel Hospital, health camps will be organized in the affected areas to provide primary healthcare services and disease prevention.

The camps also provide safe spaces for children, clean drinking water, and necessary sanitation facilities. The statement mentions that 500 temporary housing units will be constructed in collaboration with the government and local governments for families whose homes were completely destroyed or rendered uninhabitable by the floods.

It is stated that safe, organized, and dignified housing will be provided for affected families until permanent reconstruction is completed. The foundation has announced that under its long-term commitment, it will collaborate with Dhulikhel Hospital to establish an infectious disease prevention and control center.

Nirvan Chaudhary, Chairman of Chaudhary Foundation and Nabil Bank, stated that the immediate priority is to protect lives and ensure food, housing, healthcare, and dignity for the affected families. He said, ‘Our responsibility should not be limited to emergency relief alone. Through this partnership between Chaudhary Foundation and Nabil Bank, we are committed to the entire journey, from rescue and relief to temporary housing, permanent rehabilitation, and strengthened public health preparedness.’

Officials from Chaudhary Foundation and Nabil Bank are reported to be working in close coordination with the Government of Nepal, local administration and relevant bodies, security forces, health workers, community organizations, and volunteers.

This initiative aims to deliver relief and assistance transparently, effectively, and systematically to the most affected and vulnerable families.

This initiative is reported to be a continuation of Chaudhary Foundation and Nabil Bank’s shared commitment to stand with the Nepali people during times of national crisis and to help build a safer, healthier, and disaster-resilient future for affected communities.

Chaudhary Foundation and Nabil Bank have expressed gratitude to the Government of Nepal for its swift and proactive initiatives in the rescue and immediate relief of the affected communities.
