August 24, Kathmandu.

As the use and import of batteries continue to grow in Nepal, direct meetings and discussions are set to take place between representatives of Chinese battery manufacturing companies and battery importers and businesspeople from across Nepal.

As the import of batteries and electrical materials from China to Nepal continues to rise, this meeting is being organized with the objective of directly understanding the real needs of the Nepali market, consumer demand, product quality, pricing, and supply chain management.

A program has been scheduled for representatives of battery manufacturing companies from China to hold direct meetings and discussions with businesspeople who import and distribute batteries in Nepal, at the office of Angel Trade Center in Lalitpur.

Businesspeople involved in battery import, wholesale, distribution, and the electric energy sector from various districts of Nepal are expected to participate in this meeting, which will run from August 23 to August 26, 2026.

Effort to Convey Nepali Market Needs to Manufacturers

Currently, the demand for various types of batteries is increasing in Nepal. The use of batteries is expanding in electric vehicles, solar energy, inverters, energy storage systems, telecommunications, industrial equipment, and other electrical materials.

In such a situation, businesspeople say it is crucial to directly inform manufacturing companies about the type, capacity, quality, price, and application areas of batteries needed in the Nepali market.

Nepali importers and businesspeople participating in the program will directly discuss their actual needs, market problems, customer demand, and currently used batteries with representatives of Chinese manufacturing companies.

It is expected that this will enable Chinese manufacturing companies to directly understand “What is needed in Nepal?” and Nepali businesspeople to directly obtain information from manufacturers regarding “What kind of products are suitable for Nepal?”

Possibility of Product Improvement and New Products After Market Study

Another important objective of the program is to study the battery market in Nepal.

It is stated that through discussions with Nepali importers and businesspeople, information will be gathered on which types of batteries are in high demand, what capacity products are needed, what the price situation is like, what quality-related problems exist, and what types of batteries might see increased demand in the future.

Based on the market information obtained from this, there will be a possibility for manufacturing companies to develop products targeting the Nepali market according to quality, capacity, price, design, and needs.

Discussions are expected on market-appropriate product development, especially in areas such as lithium batteries, solar batteries, electric vehicle batteries, battery cells, and battery management systems.

Goal to Make the Supply Chain More Organized

In the battery business, along with product price, reliable supply, consistent quality, timely delivery, and long-term relationships with suppliers are also crucial.

Therefore, it is expected that once a direct relationship is established between Chinese manufacturers and Nepali importers, the possibilities for regular supply, wholesale purchase, product customization, and long-term business partnerships will increase in the future.

On behalf of Angel Trade Center, it has been stated that such direct meetings will make it easier for Nepali businesspeople to establish relationships with Chinese manufacturing companies and to directly present their needs.

Battery Management is Also an Important Issue

As the use of batteries increases in Nepal, alongside import and sales, the management of used batteries is also becoming an important issue.

Recently, stakeholders have emphasized the need for clear arrangements in Nepal for the identification and tracking system of electric vehicle batteries, and for battery collection, reuse, and recycling after use.

Therefore, it has been observed that the future battery business needs to be developed not merely as import and sales, but as a complete cycle encompassing production, supply, use, collection, reuse, and recycling.

Discussions can also be held on experience exchange and potential cooperation between Chinese manufacturers, Nepali importers, and relevant businesspeople regarding this matter.

Possibility of New Cooperation in China-Nepal Battery Trade

China has been developing as an important production center for global batteries and clean energy technology. In Nepal, too, due to the expanding use of electric vehicles, solar energy, and energy storage systems, there is a possibility for the battery market to expand further in the coming days.

Therefore, businesspeople expect that efforts to establish direct business relationships, market studies, and long-term supply partnerships between Chinese manufacturers and Nepali businesspeople can create new opportunities in Nepal’s battery market.

In this context, Angel Trade Center has stated that it organized the program with the aim of coordinating between Chinese manufacturers and Nepali battery importers and businesspeople, conveying market needs to manufacturers, and facilitating the creation of suitable products and supply chains in the future.

From Manufacturer to Market, From Market to Re-manufacturing

Considering the increasing demand for batteries in Nepal, a direct relationship between “manufacturers who understand Nepal’s needs and Nepali businesspeople who understand manufacturers’ capabilities” appears crucial in the coming days.

It is expected that this type of meeting will go beyond immediate commercial transactions to lay the groundwork for long-term supply, market-adapted production, technology exchange, and the systematic development of the battery sector in Nepal.
