21,000 doses of cholera vaccine have been sent to Rasuwa after the risk of cholera increased following floods and landslides.
The vaccine, received with the support of the World Health Organization (WHO), was sent to Rasuwa on Sunday morning via a Nepali Army helicopter.
Minister of Health and Population, Nisha Mehta, has instructed that medicines, vaccines, health supplies, and necessary public health services be made immediately available in flood-affected areas to reduce the risk of cholera and other waterborne diseases.

According to the minister’s directives, health officials have stated that efforts are underway to send vaccines and medicines to the affected areas, enhance disease surveillance, pay special attention to safe drinking water and sanitation, and deploy necessary health workers.
As floods have damaged water sources and distribution systems, increasing the risk of cholera and other waterborne diseases, prevention, early identification, and treatment management have been prioritized in the affected areas.
