Providing essential relief materials for approximately 600 flood-affected families; preparing for additional support as needs evolve
Daraz Nepal has reiterated its support and commitment to national disaster response by providing relief and assistance to communities affected by the devastating floods in various regions of Nepal.
Under this relief initiative, Daraz Nepal has provided relief materials worth 30,000 US dollars (approximately 4.5 million rupees), targeting around 600 flood-affected families. Furthermore, it is planning and preparing for additional necessary support.
To identify the immediate needs of the affected communities, Daraz Nepal is coordinating with the Government of Nepal and also assisting in the procurement and management of these materials.
The relief materials currently provided include essential food items that can be stored for a long time, such as rice, lentils, chickpeas, salt, soybeans, cooking oil, tea, and biscuits. These relief materials have been directly handed over to the Government of Nepal for distribution to the affected families.
The company expects that this will help target relief efforts according to local needs and effectively deliver them to the communities most in need of assistance.
As immediate relief efforts progress, the need for cooking utensils and materials for food preparation and distribution in the affected communities has also been identified.
Based on coordination with the Government of Nepal and on-site needs assessment, Daraz Nepal is preparing to procure such materials in the next phase of its relief efforts.
Due to the recent devastating floods, life, employment and livelihoods, transportation, and essential services in various regions of Nepal have been severely affected.
This disaster situation has also created immense pressure on security personnel, volunteers, emergency responders, and other frontline workers engaged in rescue and relief operations.
Daraz Nepal has expressed its belief that collective efforts play a crucial role during such disasters, stating that the private sector can make meaningful contributions to national disaster response by collaborating with the government and communities and deploying its resources, capabilities, and reach where necessary.

Meanwhile, disruptions to road and transportation infrastructure caused by the floods have created significant challenges for logistics and delivery services in various areas.
Daraz Nepal’s teams are continuously monitoring and evaluating various routes and operational conditions within their logistics network. Daraz Nepal stated that the safety of customers, sellers, delivery personnel, and partners is the company’s top priority.
Where conditions are favorable and safe, Daraz Nepal is working to operate and restore services in coordination with its logistics partners and relevant stakeholders.
However, the company has stated that due to road and transportation conditions in the affected areas, there might be delays or interruptions in delivery and services for some time.
Daraz Nepal has expressed heartfelt respect and gratitude to Nepal’s emergency responders, security personnel, volunteers, and other frontline helpers who are continuously working for the rescue and assistance of affected communities during this extremely difficult disaster situation.
The company has pledged to continue its support even after the immediate relief phase.
Once immediate rescue and relief needs are addressed, Daraz Nepal stated that it will continue to coordinate with the Government of Nepal to identify possibilities for effectively contributing its resources and capabilities to reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts.
“During such a major crisis, the most important thing is to understand the on-ground needs and provide quick and meaningful assistance. We are closely coordinating with the Government of Nepal to provide essential relief to affected families and communities and to support the overall disaster response,” said Ben Yi, Managing Director of Daraz Nepal. “Our responsibility does not end with the immediate emergency.
We will continue to stand with the affected communities as they rebuild and move forward.”
