Prime Minister Balen Shah stated that even though unidentified bodies have been buried underground, DNA testing and other identifying records have been kept safe.
On Wednesday, while briefing the House of Representatives meeting about the Bhote Koshi flood, he informed that DNA testing and other identifying records have been preserved, and the bodies will be handed over to the respective families after DNA matching.
According to Prime Minister Shah, 939 bodies have been found so far. He stated that the bodies are being managed with the help of the Nepali Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force, Nepal.

Prime Minister Shah also informed that identified bodies are being handed over to their relatives.
He said, ‘We are scientifically processing and safely burying the unidentified bodies underground as per the law. However, DNA and other records that aid in identification have been kept safe. These bodies will be handed over to their respective families after DNA matching. So far, 939 bodies have been found. With the help of the Nepali Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force, Nepal, these bodies are being managed. Identified bodies are being handed over to their relatives.’
