NIBL’s 100 Million Investment in Nepal’s First Animated Film ‘Lost in Mandala’

NIBL Equity Partners, managed by NIMB S Capital Limited, a subsidiary of Nepal Investment Mega Bank Limited, is set to invest in Nepal’s first animated feature film, ‘Lost in Mandala’.
Equity Partners and Incessant Rain Studios have signed an agreement for investment in this original film, which is being produced in Nepal for global audiences.
NIBL Equity Partners stated that this investment will support the production of the film and various related activities in Nepal. Incessant Rain Studios is working on this project in collaboration with Lost in Mandala LLC, established to co-produce the film ‘Lost in Mandala’.
Under the proposed transaction agreement, NIBL Equity Partners plans to invest up to NPR 10 crore with Incessant Rain Studios.
According to Sibant Bahadur Pandey, CEO of NIMB S Capital Limited, this partnership aims to encourage Nepal’s animation industry and establish it on the world map.
He stated that it is essential to support original art and intellectual property from one’s own country with global potential, and this partnership emphasizes that.

He also added that the film ‘Lost in Mandala’ is an ambitious and original project, and local support from within the country will play a significant role in its production.
NIMB S Capital stated that the company had previously supported ‘Lost in Mandala’. Under this, the Capital had assisted in fundraising initiatives for this project, and the company mentioned that it formally presented ‘Lost in Mandala’ to invited participants and investors by organizing a special ceremony at QFX.
‘Lost in Mandala’ is an animated fantasy adventure film, created and directed by Kiran Bhakta Joshi. The film’s producer is Deepa Chipalu Joshi.
This film is inspired by the spiritual traditions, mythological tales, and captivating natural landscapes of the Himalayan region. Made with the vision of showcasing Nepali stories to the world, this film explores themes of belonging, friendship, compassion, and self-discovery through a world-class animation medium.
The film’s screenplay was written by renowned screenwriter Jack Stentz, who has worked on projects such as ‘Thor’, ‘X-Men: First Class’, and Netflix’s ‘Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous’.
With this partnership, NIBL Equity Partners aims to continuously support the production of the film ‘Lost in Mandala’ and help it reach audiences worldwide.
